The Michigan Senate has approved the creation of a child abuse offenders registry.

Wyatt’s Law is legislation that has been in Lansing for seven years. The Senate passed a bill package that tightens the tracking of abuse cases with a unanimous vote.

It creates an electronic case management system that allows agencies and parents to easily access information, according to Our Midland.

Wyatt’s Law is named for a 9-year old, Wyatt Rewoldt, who suffered severe abuse at the hands of a woman who was dating his father in 2013.
