Allegan-based baby formula company working around the clock to help fill the need

A western Michigan baby formula factory says they are working around the clock in response to the national crisis brought about by the shutdown of one of their biggest competitors.

Perrigo Company, in Allegan, are one of three US formula makers working hard to fill store shelves. Bridge Michigan reports that Perrigo is working to increase their presence at retailers such as Walmart, Target and Amazon.

Michigan has been ground zero for the crisis after Abbott Nutrition had to shut down production in Sturgis after an FDA investigation.

Perrigo formula is made in facilities in Ohio and Vermont.
