The Indiana Department of Education has launched A $5 million grant to deal with the teacher shortage.

The funds will come from the state’s Elementary and Secondary school emergency relief fund. This aims to to increase opportunities for students and underrepresented communities to become teachers.

The money can also be used to recruit and keep current teachers. Applications must be in by August 5th.

The state recently launched the educator supply and demand marketplace which made it easier to post job openings to teachers statewide.
