Animal shelters facing overcrowding, new incentive to empty shelters

Animal shelters nationwide are facing an overcrowding crisis, but there is a new incentive to help you empty the shelters.
The Bissell Pet Foundation is hosting the most funded summer adoption event in U.S. history. Empty the shelter will run from Sunday through July 31.
During that time, all adoption fees will be $50 dollars or less. Since 2016,
The event has helped more than 90,000 pets find homes. Locally, the South Bend Animal Resource Center and the Humane Society of Elkhart County are participating.
