A man was arrested after leading police on a car chase.

It happened on Monday, when a Mishawka officer tried to pull over a man driving with a paper license plate, registered to a different vehicle.

That’s when the officer tried to pull the driver over, as he pulled into a parking spot on Main Street.

The driver, Alvin Carter Jr, allegedly started driving away from the officer, speeding through stop signs, and finally crashing.

ABC 57 News reports that Carter left his car, running from police.

Police found a handgun and drugs inside of the car.

He is charged with resisting law enforcement, possession of a narcotic rug, and resisting law enforcement with a vehicle.
