Concord Community Schools is one school receiving a grant to expand higher education and job training, focusing on human medicine and bioinformatics.

They’re among 97 schools receiving part of the $57 million Explore, Engage, and Experience grant.

Concord is planning on expanding access to real-world experiences, especially in the biomedical field and elementary education.

The Elkhart Truth reports that the younger grades will complete course work and, once they’re in high school, they’ll have the opportunity to be in field experiences in the local biomedical industries.

The program is starting in the fall and will have around 120 students.
