Colts General Manager talks about mass shootings, gun law changes

(Jon Zimney/95.3 MNC)

Indianapolis Colts General Manager Chris Ballard expressed his disappointment and anger at all of the mass shootings that have been happening across the United States Tuesday afternoon shortly after his team reported to Grand Park Events Center in Westfield for training camp.

Here is the transcript from Ballard’s address Tuesday:

“On a serious note before I start talking about camp and our team, I just – look, condolences for all the families in Greenwood. I don’t understand. To me, it’s a lot of common sense and we lack it right now in this country. It’s a shame. Highland Park, Uvalde, Greenwood, Buffalo, when does it end? When does some common sense come into play and when does this end? When do our elected officials actually do something about it instead of their own political gain? Both sides, both sides are completely wrong. I’m not antigun but I’m anti-military-style weapons that – it blows my mind away that an 18-year-old kid can walk in and buy an AK-15 automatic weapon. It makes no sense. Zero. Just wanted to open up. It’s a shame that we live in a country that can’t come to an agreement because of politics on doing the right thing for our country. It makes zero sense. Zero. So anyway, my prayers are with them. It’s a shame that you have to get up here and start something with – eventually we’ll get up and not have to talk about this but right now, we cannot remain silent on this issue. I think Steve Kerr said it best, we can’t become numb. That’s what we’ve done. We’ve become numb to it like it’s just OK. It’s not OK. People need to be held accountable and our politicians need to be held accountable. At what point are they going to put their own self-interest aside and do the right thing for the country?”

“it blows my mind away that an 18-year-old kid can walk in and buy an AK-15 automatic weapon.”

Another uninformed goofball.

Semi-auto is on pull of the trigger, one shot. Automatic weapons will empty the magazine as long as you pull and hold the trigger. Citizens can’t own one legally without jumping through a bunch of government hoops. Very few own them.

I bet he has armed security. OK for him but not for us.

Failed to mention that a legally armed citizen saved countless lives in Greenwood.

Go back to taking care of your losers and keep your mouth shut unless you get educated. Your opinion means nada.

If an 18-year-old kid can walk in and buy an AK-15 automatic weapon. Why hasn’t he informed the DEA, FBI, homeland security, Indiana State Police, been informed of this, and where the gun store is located.

Semi-autos should be called “self Loading.” Too bad he wasn’t at the greenwood mall last week. Perhaps then he would have the perspective of the average citizens who just wants to go to the store and return safely. 18 year olds are not allowed to won a fully automatic firearm. Most 18 year olds could not afford one because they cost as much as a car. Then you have to feed it with $1/round ammo. Who can afford that? I never take advice from sports figures or actors. None of them know what real life is about.

Coach Moron should stick to sportsball. Better yet, don’t! Without bread and circuses (beer and sports) more people might actually wake up to what’s being done to them…

– it blows my mind away that an 18-year-old kid can walk in and buy an AK-15 automatic weapon. Where can anyone walk in and buy an automatic weapon? No where, no where at all. Just a puppet that is repeating what he was told. It doesn’t matter if it’s true or not. As long as someone in his position has spoken, it must be the Gods truth. He must be a piece of work to say something like that without even checking it out. Now he will be known as a shill for the anti gun lobby. He’s probably proud of himself too. What a fool
