A man was taken to the hospital after being shot in Elkhart.

The shooting happened around 3:45 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 7, in the area of Vistula Street and Lexington Avenue.  The victim drove himself to the 1600 block of Stevens Avenue after being hit.

There was no immediate word about his condition.  Police have not announced any suspects, arrests or information about what led to the shooting.
