The sentencing for a former South Bend Police officer who pleaded guilty to child seduction has been delayed by more than a week.
Timothy Barber entered a guilty plea, last month, and will now learn his fate on September 9th.
Barber was formally charged, last fall, with two counts of child seduction, two counts of misconduct and a charge of public nudity and public indecency.
According to court documents, Barber was accused of using his position as a police officer to pressure a 16-year-old girl to have sex with him.
The teen told police she believed Barber was obsessed with her.
She also said he drove her to a secluded location for a sexual encounter while he was wearing his uniform.
Barber pleaded guilty to Child Seduction and Official Misconduct.
The plea agreement caps a sentence at four years.

I cannot believe the title of this article refers to what this man did as “child seduction.”
