A man has been arrested after police say he allegedly abandoned his vehicle after crashing it into some homes in South Bend.

Abdul Davis, 30, was arrested for possession of meth, marijuana, operating a vehicle while intoxicated endangering a person, and two counts of leaving the scene.

It was Saturday afternoon, Dec. 3, when officers were called to a street for a hit-and-run and found a vehicle, abandoned, and some homes damaged.

Within minutes, officers found Davis a few blocks south of the crash scene. ABC 57 News reports he denied being intoxicated but as officers spoke with Davis, he nearly fell out of the police car several times.

Police found the drugs on Davis before booking him into the county jail.
