Most of Notre Dame’s players are in Florida now as they prepare for their date with South Carolina in the Taxslayer Gator Bowl.

The Fighting Irish held their first practice in Florida on Monday after the Christmas break.

Head coach Marcus Freeman said with many players choosing to opt out of the bowl game or enter the transfer portal they’ve had to “get back to basics” in prepping for a bowl game with many younger players.

He says Tyler Buchanan will be starting at quarterback with the exit of Drew Pyne. Buchanan has played very few snaps this season.

Kickoff is December 30th at 3:30 pm EDT.
