Two people hospitalized after Benton Township apartment fire

Two people are in the hospital after an apartment fire in Benton Township.

Emergency crews were called to the Fairplain Village Apartments on Tuesday, Jan. 17, at around 8:30 p.m., on reports a fire in the complex.

Officials say it started on the third floor. Two residents were taken to the hospital with smoke inhalation. The cause of the fire is still being investigated.
