Man arrested after allegedly holding knife to woman’s neck at an Elkhart Kroger store

A man was arrested after allegedly holding a knife to a woman’s neck at Kroger in Elkhart.

It happened on Sunday, Jan. 15, at 4:36 p.m., in the 100 block of West Hively Street, when police were called on reports of a robbery.

Witnesses told officials that the suspect, 34-year-old Charles Miller, had a knife and was seen running behind the store.

The victim says that Miller went into the backseat of her vehicle while she was inside of the store. ABC 57 News reports that Miller took the victims purse and then left the area.

He was later found in the 200 block of Thorndale Drive and arrested on the charge of robbery with a deadly weapon.

He was booked into the Elkhart County Jail.
