Michigan’s Attorney General is pushing for credits for those customers in the state who lost power last week during a series of ice storms.

The storms were some of the worst the state had seen in years. Their damage impacted large areas of the state, leaving many Michiganders without power in their wake — leaving some of those customers in the dark for days. Attorney General Dana Nessel is calling on DTE Energy and Consumers Energy to issue credits for the impacted customers.

WSJM reports that Nessel is calling for an energy grid the state can depend on, and she says the utilities have failed to adequately invest in their own infrastructure, or prepare for storms like these. Nessel wants customers to have automatic credits for power outages.
