The 12-mile northbound re-pavement project on US-31 in Berrien County will begin on Monday.

The repaving will start at US-12 between Niles and Buchanan.

The project will include improvements to concrete curbs and gutters, as well as fencing, signage, guardrails, drainage and pavement markings.

The Michigan Department of Transportation anticipates lane closures, shifting traffic patterns, intermittent ramp closures and detours.

They estimate the project will be completed on Nov. 3.
