Whirlpool has announced the completion of the Lakeview Trail Tunnel and says that M-63 will reopen before the May 10 commute between Benson Road. and Monte Road.

The Lakeview Bike Trail, on Whirlpool’s campus in Benton Charter Township enhances the network of biking trails in and around the area and is open to the public.

The tunnel was constructed, last month, and connects the open first phase of the Lakeview Trail with the second phase on the west side of M-63.

The second phase, which includes two additional miles of trails west of M-63, is expected to be completed in early summer.
