Public schools in Flint, Michigan are enforcing a policy banning backpacks, including those made of clear plastic material, amid concerns over firearms, weapons and threats.
The Flint Board of Education voted unanimously to ban backpacks for the remainder of the school year. Kevelin Jones, the Superintendent of Flint Community Schools, says it’s a sign of the times.
The new policy allows small purses for personal items, clear plastic bags for gym clothes and lunchboxes “within reason” and everything will be subject to searches.

It sounds like each school there needs to be setup like TSA airport security. One entrance and going through the same procedures as getting on a commercial aircraft. Kids shouldn’t bring firearms to school in the first place.
