Three people were killed in a crash in Elkhart County.

The collision happened around 3 a.m. on Sunday, May 14, in the 23000 block of Toledo Road.

The vehicle was eastbound, from County Road 13, when it left the roadway, collided with a tree and came to rest of the south side of the road, according to the Elkhart County Sheriff’s Office.

The driver, 18-year-old Juan Mendoza was killed. Two passengers, Eduardo Santos, 19, and Nayeli Navarro, 21, also died.

Two other passengers were hospitalized.

Factors into the crash are still being investigated.
