An Indiana man has been sentenced to more than seven years in prison for snatching an elderly woman’s purse outside a Niles church.
Antoine Lamar Dallas, 54, pleaded guilty to unarmed robbery and received a prison term of 86 months to 15 years.
The incident happened in April of last year outside the New Journey United Methodist Church. The 80-year-old woman that Dallas ripped off fell down as he rode a bike past her, then grabbed her purse. He then got off the bike and got into a struggle with the woman.
He was arrested after DNA from a shoe he left behind confirmed his identity as the suspect. Leader Publications reports it’s Dallas’ fourth robbery conviction since 2009.
