More information has been released about a crash involving an Indiana state lawmaker, whose pickup truck veered down a hill, through an interstate guardrail and across traffic lanes.
The prosecutor in Jackson County has yet to decide whether to file criminal charges against Republican Representative Jim Lucas.
State police arrested Lucas on preliminary charges of driving while intoxicated and leaving the scene of a crash. Lucas’s office hasn’t commented and a spokesperson for Republican House Speaker Todd Huston said he won’t talk about it, either.
Lucas is a prominent supporter of loosening state gun laws and legalizing marijuana.
