It’s just probation for a Vandalia man who failed to register as a sex offender and assaulted a homeowner during a home invasion.
Kenneth Edward Moore, 54, pleaded guilty to charges of failing to report as a sex offender and attempted felonious assault.
Leader Publications reports that he’s been sentenced to 18 months of probation and has been ordered to pay $2,000 in fines and costs.
It was April of last year when police were called to the victim’s home in Vandalia when Moore entered, then threatened the homeowner using a sword or a large knife. It was after his arrest, that police learned he failed to register as a sex offender, stemming from a prior conviction.
