A 21-year-old man has been arrested in connection with a shooting that happened earlier this week on East Madison Street in South Bend.
Police were called around 2 a.m. on Monday, June 5, to the 1200 block of E. Madison Street on the report of a shooting.
On arrival, officers located a male victim suffering from apparent gunshot wounds.
The victim was taken to the hospital, where he was treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
Through an investigation from the South Bend Police Violent Crimes Unit, a suspect, identified as Kinyan Morris, 21, was arrested and has been charged with Attempted Murder, Aggravated Battery, and Criminal Recklessness with a Deadly Weapon.
Morris is being held at the St. Joseph County Jail.

🤔 Maybe the city of South Bend should post several large signs. They should read; It is illegal to discharge a firearm within the city limits. Maybe Kinyan was unaware of the local ordinance. There’s also a local law against attempted murder.
