Four Winds Field will have a new makeover.

The South Bend Common Council passed a resolution approving a new law that Governor Eric Holcomb signed. It approves as much as $100 million without raising taxes.

It says that tax dollars can stay local and be used for the Four Winds Field project, which includes a new upper deck.

The new legislation could also help other city owned facilities.

“Raising taxes” or not, no tax dollars should go into building or improving facilities for a private sports team. SB Cubs make plenty of money, they can pay for their own improvements.
