A different kind of music camp is happening in North Manchester.
The Midwest Uke and Harmonica Camp is taking place from July 8-10.
It’s the 8th year that the camp has taken place. The camp brings in the top artists in the industry to spend a weekend with students to teach new skills and different techniques to use on the uke and harmonica.
The camp will have two concerts that feature the teaching artists.
It’s open to the general public on Saturday July 8 and Sunday July 9 at 7:30 p.m. at the Cordier Auditorium at Manchester University.
The Saturday concert includes Neal Chin, Mika Kane, Charissa Hoffman, Gracie Terzian, Grace van’t Hof, and Andy Wilson.
The Sunday concert will feature Cynthia Kinnunen, Ukulenny, Bernadette Mata, Victoria Vox, Sandy Weltman, and Paul Simon’s Grammy award-winning bassist Bakithi Kumalo.
Admission is $20 for either evening or $35 for both. Student tickets are $10 per show.
Tickets can be purchased at the door.
