The St Joseph County Council voted to close Portage Manor.

But now, an individual and class action lawsuit has been filed to stop the closing.

It was filed on behalf of four residents of Portage Manor.

The South Bend Tribune says that the defendants are members of the St. Joseph County Council.

The lawsuit says that closing Portage Manor will hurt the wellbeing and health of residents.

Those who voted to close the Manor say that it’s in bad shape and that the county should not have to continue maintenance.

The closing date has been set for July 31.
