Police in Indiana are gearing up for increased patrols for the upcoming holiday.
Indiana State Police are taking part in the national ‘Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over’ campaign from this Friday until July 8.
They say the increased patrols will have the primary goal of preventing tragedies previously seen around the July 4th holiday.
The effort is being funded by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration through the Indiana Criminal Justice Institute.
Police also encourage anyone drinking, even just one drink, to plan ahead of time to have a sober ride home.
