Police identify Mishawaka man struck, killed by train near McKinley crossing

Mishawaka Police have identified a pedestrian who died after being struck by a train.

The collision happened around 4 p.m. on Thursday, July 27, in the area of the McKinley railroad crossing.

On arrivial, officers found the body of Daniel Votava, 36, of Mishawaka near the tracks.

Witnesses say Votava was walking southbound down the middle of the tracks when he was struck.

Canadian Northern is assisting police with the investigation.
