Students approved for tablets at Juvenile Detention Center

Students at the Juvenile Detention Center will now have tablets.

The Elkhart County Commissioners approved the 530 tablets and a body scanner through American Rescue Plan funds on Monday.

They say that the money was put aside for juvenile detention facilities.

The Goshen News reports that the tablets will help the students in the facility, because if they need quarantine, they will still be able to get their school work done.

The center already has three tablets, but the the Director of Court Services says that if they did not use the money, they would loose the money.

Typical .gov response…”we had to spend the money or we’d lose it!”. They always spend all the budget so they can get more.
