Downtown Mishawaka to possibly add Outdoor Refreshment Area

(Tom Franklin/95.3 MNC)
Downtown Mishawaka could soon have an Outdoor Refreshment Area.
A new state law enables cities to establish zones for outdoor alcohol consumption.
The proposed zone for Mishawaka is situated along St. Joseph River and Main Street, includes Sun King Brewery, Social Cantina, and Mishawaka Public House.
Mayor Dave Wood and Common Council members anticipate increased visitors and local business activity.
WSBT reports a public meeting will take place to discuss the idea and a Council vote in September will determine its fate.
