Marcellus man gets probation after selling drugs to undercover officers

Despite facing prison sentencing guidelines, a Marcellus man who sold drugs to undercover officers three times last year has been granted a final probation opportunity.
Carlos Joseph Perez, 34, pleaded guilty to three methamphetamine delivery/manufacture counts. He received a three-year probation in the Swift & Sure program, completion of Twin County probation, 77 days in jail with 73 days served, and more than $32-hundred dollars in fines and costs.
Leader Publications reports the sales to the undercover cops took place, last August and September, in Dowagiac.
Perez has a criminal history that includes 20 priors, including eight felonies, has previous records in larceny, theft, weapons, and assault.
