DeKalb County residents outraged over removal of services for delivering babies at Parkview Health

(95.3 MNC)
Residents in DeKalb County are outraged that a northern Indiana hospital system is no longer offering services to deliver babies.
Parkview Health made the announcement earlier this month.
They will no longer provide labor and delivery services starting sometime in September at hospitals in DeKalb and LaGrange Counties.
People who live the rallied in opposition to that decision outside Parkview Health DeKalb over the weekend.
That means the closest place for some to have a baby now will be Parkview Fort Wayne.
A similar decision was made by Perry County Memorial Hospital in southern Indiana this month as well.
