Economist: Eliminating Indiana’s income tax would have its price

A Ball State economist says Hoosiers could pay a price if Indiana eliminates its income tax.

Mike Hicks says there is always a price, and in this case there would be an increase in other taxes to allow the state to take in the same amount of money.

Hicks is also skeptical of the idea that lower taxes will draw more people into the state, saying data shows people are actually moving to higher tax areas due to higher investment in schools and other services.

So that’s why people are fleeing high tax states like NY and CA for low tax states…he makes so much (non)sense.
