Indiana-based Rose Acre Farms was in court defending themselves against price-gouging allegations that they meant to make millions of dollars at the expense of Hoosier families.
The day before, Rose Acre Farms chairman John Rust had announced his candidacy for Senate in Indiana, opposing Conservative Congressman Jim Banks.
Banks has questioned the source of Rust’s self-funded campaign donations and has called for an immediate disclosure.
He has also suggested that Rust may have used money earned through gouging the price of eggs during the COVID pandemic to fund his campaign.
This allegation comes as Kraft Foods and other food processors have filed a lawsuit against egg producers, including Rose Acre Farms, for alleged price-gouging.
