Traffic stop ends in crash in South Bend

A traffic stop ended in a crash after a police pursuit in South Bend on Wednesday, Aug. 30.

Police say that they tried to do a traffic stop around 5 p.m. near Meader and Westmoor Streets.

The vehicle allegedly did not stop and drove west onto Westmoor Street. It later crashed into another vehicle near Olive Street.

The driver of the second vehicle suffered minor injuries.

Police say that four people inside the suspect’s vehicle were detained and then arrested with preliminary charges from the pursuit and firearms in the vehicle.
