A new phase of the LaSalle Avenue Streetscape Project is starting.

Construction will go through the north side of the street from Hill Street to the St. Joe River.

The Hill and Niles intersections will only be open for westbound traffic to turn south.

Motorists will not be able to access LaSalle Avenue from St. Louis Boulevard to MLK Boulevard.

Drivers will not be able to access LaSalle from the north.

The eastbound detour for LaSalle Avenue will be south on Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard, then east on Colfax Avenue to Eddy Street. Access to all businesses in the impacted areas will be maintained during construction.

Go ahead and apply a thicker coat of lipstick and see how the pig looks, I guess.

South Bend doesn’t need prettier streets… It needs SAFER ones.
