Mel Tucker has been fired by MSU

MSU has officially fired head football coach Mel Tucker.

Tucker was one of the highest-paid coaches in college sports, having just signed a 10-year, $95 million contract just two years ago. Michigan State University sent him a letter on Wednesday stating that he had not properly responded to the school’s previous communication or refuted the accusations.

Two weeks ago it was revealed that sexual harassment allegations were filed against the coach by a woman who Tucker had hired to speak to the team about sexual violence and consent. The case is under investigation with a formal hearing scheduled for Oct. 5 and 6.

Tucker’s first coaching job was 26 years ago at MSU, as a graduate assistant with the Spartans. He also spent time coaching in the NFL.
