Chain-reaction crash caused by driver going through medical episode

As many as seven people in four vehicles were hurt in a chain-reaction crash caused by a driver who suffered a medical episode.

The crash happened around 3:30 p.m. on Thursday, Sep. 28, on Main Street, just west of M-62, in Edwardsburg.

Police say a vehicle driven by a 42-year-old Edwardsburg man had a medical episode and lost control, rear-ending a vehicle driven by another Edwardsburg man.

The second driver then struck a third vehicle driven by a man from Niles.

The driver that had the medical issue then struck a fourth vehicle driven by an Edwardsburg man.

The four drivers, as well as three other passengers, were all taken to area hospitals.
