An Elkhart man has pleaded guilty to attempted murder.
Navneet Singh allegedly shot his girlfriend outside of a Hiawatha Drive residence on April 20.
A neighbor had called police to report two people covered in blood moving to sit outside on the porch.
The Goshen News says Singh had told police that he had shot his girlfriend and then himself, and he reportedly told medics that his goal had been to kill his girlfriend.
His girlfriend suffered an injury near her nose and was treated at South Bend Memorial Hospital.
One of the woman’s relatives told police that Singh had been holding the woman confined in her bedroom at the house, and video evidence reportedly showed Singh standing on a dresser in front of the doorway to the bedroom as he aimed a black handgun in the victims direction.
A sentencing hearing is scheduled for November 16.
