A LaPorte County High School student was killed in a crash.
The crash happened early Thursday morning, Oct. 26, at U.S. 6 and County Road 425 West when the driver of a semi failed to yield to a pickup truck being driven by 16-year-old Mark Steuer of LaPorte.
The pickup collided with the trailer being bulled by the semi. The teen was rushed to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.
The South Central School District issued a statement to the school, showing support for students, staff and family who are coping with Steuer’s death.
The 70-year-old Hobart man driving the semi wasn’t hurt.
Factors into the crash are still being investigated.
