Woman shot on East Ewing Avenue in South Bend

A woman is recovering after being shot in South Bend.

It happened around 11:30 p.m. on Saturday, oct. 28, outside of the Phillips 66 gas station in the 1900 block of East Ewing Street.

According to reports, the suspect threw the woman out of a car, then shot her. Eyewitnesses helped the victim until first responders arrived.

The woman’s condition was stablized once she arrived at the hospital.

Police are searching for the suspect, described a black male, who took off, driving eastward on Ewing Avenue.

The South Bend Police Violent Crimes Unit is leading the investigation.
