A Bristol man was hurt after crashing his car at a gas station in the area of County Road 17 and State Road 120.
The collision happened around 4:20 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 30, when Elkhart County Sheriff’s deputies say the 66-year-old man was traveling southbound, then accelerated, mistaking it for the brake when coming to a red light. The man swerved in the intersection to avoid traffic, then drove over the curb onto the B.P. gas station and collided with a Jeep that was parked at a gas pump.
The Bristol man was the only person hurt — suffering pain to his chest.
The vehicle that he struck suffered front-end damage and moderate all around damage.
