A pedestrian was killed Saturday evening after being hit by a car in a busy South Bend intersection.

South Bend Police responded to the call around 6:30 p.m. at Main St. and Western Ave.

The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

The St. Joseph County Fatal Crash Team (FACT) says the driver is cooperating with the investigation, and drugs and alcohol are not considered to be factors in the crash.
