The Elkhart County Homicide Unit is investigating after two men were found dead and a woman was found unresponsive in the 1600 block of West Franklin Street in Elkhart.

It was around 11:45 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 20, when 911 dispatchers received a call asking for a welfare check on a home due to packages piling up outside the door.

An Elkhart Police Officer got into the home and found a man, dead. Then, while clearing the home, they found a second man dead and the unconcsious woman.

The woman was taken to Elkhart General Hospital in critical condition.

The Elkhart County Homicide Unit was activated. The believe there is no immediate threat to the public.

At this time, the cause and manner of death for these two individuals is unknown and their names are being withheld pending family notification.
