A South Bend man is in trouble for driving too fast for weather conditions and for driving without insurance. That, after the 23-year-old lost control of his Jeep in the area of Old U.S. 33 west of State Road 19.

The crash happened around 5:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 5.

Elkhart County Sheriff’s deputies say the Jeep went left of center and collided with a Mazda driven by a 34-year-old Elkhart woman.

She suffered chest pain, but didn’t have to be hospitalized. The man who police say caused the crash was not injured.
