The search for a missing person in Benton Township has transitioned to a homicide investigation.

Officers were searching on Sunday for a man reported missing when, during their search, they found the lifeless body of an 80-year-old man in the 900 block of East Empire.

Officers say the circumstances surrounding the incident are suspicious. They haven’t yet revealed the identity of the victim.
