A John Glenn High School teacher has been fired and charged with battery after an incident with a female student.

Police say on January 29 of this year a former student told the Walkerton Police Department that she was sexually assaulted while attending John Glenn High School.

She told police that teacher and football coach John Barron, for whom she was a teachers aid, would touch her butt on a continual basis even after she asked him to stop.

The Victim said that she and her best friend were asked to help get things ready for a football banquet one afternoon, and that Barron slapped her butt while she was placing an award on the table.

Her best friend, a witness, was in the room and stated that she heard the slap. According to ABC 57 News, authorities interviewed Barron on February 1, where he stated that he and the victim would text back-and-forth and that he is hands on with his students.

He told them that he does not recall slapping the victim’s butt, but that it was not meant to be sexual if he did.
