It’s 87 months in prison for a South Bend man caught with a gun and an array of drugs after a car crash.
Tyshawn Kellogg, 29, was sentenced in U.S. District Court after pleading guilty to felon in possession of a firearm.
According to court documents, in January 2023 Kellogg led police officers on a high-speed chase that ended when he crashed his car into a fence.
Kellogg ran from the car, leaving behind a handgun, heroin, fentanyl, cocaine, and other controlled substances.
Kellogg had previously been convicted of felony offenses and, as such, was prohibited from possessing the firearm in this case.
The case was investigated by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives with assistance from the South Bend Police Department, Indiana State Police, and St. Joseph County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office.
