One person hospitalized after tree falls on car on U.S. 12 in Cass County

One person was hurt when a tree fell on top of a vehicle in Cass County.

The collision happened around 8:50 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 17, near the intersection of US-12 and Robbins Lake Road in Porter Township.

The investigation by the Cass County Sheriff’s Office shows an Elkhart man was traveling westbound on US-12 when a tree fell in the roadway.

The man’s vehicle was struck a by the falling tree, pushing the vehicle off the road and causing damage to the vehicle.

The man’s passenger was taken to Memorial Hospital in South Bend for treatment of her injuries.
