The South Bend Police Department and the city of South Bend Innovation and Technology Department have been working together to enhance users’ experience with the department’s transparency hub.

They invited the public to explore the hub and to offer feedback on the police Transparency Hub on Wednesday.

A presentation explaining how attendees would explore hubs were given, and each person was paired with a city IT employee who asked questions about interactions with the website. The hub began as an idea in 2015 and started off as a bulletin board in the police department.

The department has looked for ways to improve that and to create a way for the department and community to have trust in one another.

According to police Chief of Police Scott Ruszkowski, everybody should have information about what the department is doing, and the hub provides just that.
