A Goshen man was sentenced to a total of 20 years for drug charges.

A search warrant was served at a Goshen home in May of 2022. A woman at the home told police that she had lived there for 16 years but that 50-year-old Demetrius Harvey had moved in a few months prior.

An estimated pound of marijuana was found in the trunk of Harvey’s vehicle and canisters of marijuana were found in the kitchen, as well as over 5,000 fentanyl pills and over $12,000 in cash.

Harvey confirmed that the drugs found were his, and his criminal history showed federal drug charges, drug trafficking charges and multiple felonies.

According to the Goshen News, Harvey is now sober and taking college courses in jail.

He will serve 11 years at the Indiana Department of Corrections, six years at Elkhart County Community Corrections with home detention recommended and three years of reporting probation.
